About Matthew Stalker

Matthew Stalker is working as a radiologist in El Paso, Texas at Foundation Surgical Hospital where he specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques (x-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine and ultrasound) while also performing image guided invasive procedures

He began his career by serving in the Air Force from 1986-1991. During his military service as a firefighter and EMT, Matthew spent two years in England, served in Operation Desert Shield during the beginning of the Gulf War, and finally deployed to Saudi Arabia for six months. By the time his time in the Air Force was complete, Matthew had cultivated international experience and interest in the medical field. He decided to seek out higher education and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from St. Mary’s College of California. Matthew knew he wanted to devote his career to health care, so his next step was applying to medical school.

Matthew attended Creighton Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska and chose radiology as his specialty. He completed an internship in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut before receiving his Doctor of Medicine in 2000. He carried out his radiology residency at Hartford Hospital for the next four years, and lastly completed a yearlong fellowship in Musculoskeletal and Neurological Magnetic Imaging at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, New York. He was certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2005.

Since completing his schooling, Matthew has utilized his skill set in a number of ways. He spent seven years as a radiologist at M & S Radiology Associates in San Antonio, Texas. He then took on a higher position, acting as physician medical director at Carecore National in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Beyond his medical career, Matthew is a proud family man and loves to spend time with his three-year-old son. Matthew also places a lot of emphasis on health and fitness, so he does CrossFit Workouts and plays sports like racquetball and volleyball.

Matthew enjoys doing home improvement projects and making his house the best it can possibly be for himself and his family. He takes on large projects, such as remodeling entire rooms, and he also enjoys maintenance work such as tiling and ceiling reconstruction. Matthew also uses his passion for hands-on work by landscaping.
